Materials were digitized by the University Library in a large-scale digitization project in 2007.

    Audio-Visual digital surrogates from the University Newsreels Files, contain digitized copies of video recordings concerning University history, campus buildings improvement, student enrollment and campus life, student protests, memorials, occupational therapy services, science and technology facilities, prominent faculty, athletic activities, fraternity, sorority and alumni organizations. Digitized films include University promotional films "March of the Illini" (Spring 1963, Fall 1963, Spring 1964, Fall 1964); and "The Living Arts and the Krannert, 1970" a promotional video on the newly built Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, including an interview with Herman and Ellnora Krannert.

Materials were digitized by the University Library in a large-scale digitization project in 2007.

    Digital Surrogates from the University of Illinois Material includes digitized images, concerning digitized "UI Viewbooks" for years 1893, 1904 and 1909, displaying campus scenes, university athletics, university band, and campus buildings. Digitized images also include a copy of the booklet "Popular Illinois Men", published by Joseph Kuhn & Co. in Spring 1912, including photographs of captains and members of athletic teams, modelling suits sold by the Kuhn Co.

Joseph White (2005); convocation (2000, 2003); President Clinton's visit to campus (1998; Nobel Prizes (2003); general campus views (2002); an interview with the Provost by students (ca. 1990s); "Illini Spirit" admissions video (1986); U of I History by Matt Olsen; Rose Bowl Pre-Game scenes; and footage Roger Ebert. Born Digital Records of Public Affairs include video and transcripts of final and rough versions of public affairs videos and short clips of video projects. Important topics include the Crisis Nursery, Ebertfest, Virginial Theater, Illinois Marathon, Alma Restoration, Lincoln Hall Restoration, Engineering Open House, Convocation, student life, and campus b-roll. Also included is a recording of President Barack Obama's speech given at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.     Digital Surrogates from the Victor Ernest Shelford Papers includes a digitized tape recorded interview with Prof. Shelford by former University Archivist Maynard Brichford (March 24, 1965) concerning his work at West Virginia, Chicago and Illinois; the Ecological Society of America; fellow scientists who have influenced him, and assisted him in research and publication; field trips; Brownfield Woods; Laboratory and Field Ecology (1929) and The Ecology of North America. The interview's length is 1:06:38. The series also includes general correspondence and correspondence, by-laws, articles of incorporation, bulletins, lists of members, and meeting minutes concerning the Grassland Research Foundation. An access copy of this series is available upon request. Note: This material is currently nearline due to copyright statements, but permissions are to be reevaluated at a later date.

Correspondence includes letters from Watson Lewis to his wife Mildred between 1920 and 1921. Photographs were digitized in 2006 for preservation purposes.     W. Elmer Ekblaw Papers (Digital Surrogates), 1914, contains a digitized letter from W. Elmer Ekblaw to Miss Eva M. Shepard of Chicago concerning Ekblaw's severe frostbit of his foot during his service with the Crocker Land Expedition, detailing his injury, his recovery and reading habits during recovery, his enjoyment of letter writing, his interactions with the Inuit, his hunting of bears and muskox, and his reflection upon the solitude of his environment. The letter was written while Ekblaw was recovering of his injury. Original document can be found in record series: 26/20/153, Box 1.

Include complementary information about Greenough's career as director for the Center for Advanced Study and his work at the Beckman Institute as the Co-Director of the Main Research Theme Group on Biological Intelligence. Materials document research collaborations with colleagues, such as on the neurobiology of the fragile X syndrome, cellular mechanisms of memory storage, and aging, as well as his work as editor for the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Files have undergone minimal processing, and may require the use of specialized software for display and access.
